5. Data Storage and Retention
Your data is stored on secure servers located in data centers that meet industry-standard security certifications. We utilize cloud-based infrastructure provided by reputable third-party service providers who maintain SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, and we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with our Services. If you choose to delete your account, we will initiate the deletion process in accordance with our Data Deletion Policy outlined in Section 9. Certain information, such as anonymized usage statistics and aggregated analytics data, may be retained for longer periods for legitimate business and analytical purposes.
We may retain certain information as required by law, for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes, enforcing our agreements, and complying with legal obligations. When determining retention periods, we consider the nature and sensitivity of the data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized disclosure, our legal obligations, and the purposes for which we process the data.
6. Data Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit using TLS 1.3 and encryption of data at rest using AES-256 encryption. We employ multi-factor authentication, role-based access controls, and regular security audits to ensure the integrity of our systems.
Our security infrastructure includes network firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, automated vulnerability scanning, and regular penetration testing conducted by independent third-party security firms. All employees and contractors with access to user data are required to complete security awareness training and sign confidentiality agreements.
Despite our best efforts, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable legal requirements and provide guidance on steps you can take to protect yourself.
7. Third-Party Services
We may share your information with carefully selected third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform, providing our Services, and communicating with you. These providers include cloud infrastructure providers, payment processors, email service providers, analytics platforms, and customer support tools. Each third-party service provider is contractually obligated to process your data only as instructed by us and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
We may also share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information with third parties for industry analysis, demographic profiling, and other purposes. This type of information does not identify any individual user and cannot be used to reveal your identity. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, such as a court order or subpoena.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our website before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
